2. Panel Handling & Storage
Step 1: Rolling

Step 1: Proper Rolling

Roll the panel with the front side facing up. Min radius 200mm.

Step 2: Securing

Step 2: Secure for Transit

Use ropes or straps to bundle and secure the rolled panel.

Step 3: Transport

Step 3: Safe Transport

Use a trolley or cart to transport panels to the site area.

Step 4: Unbinding

Step 4: Surface Protection

Never drag panels. Lift carefully to avoid scratches.

Step 5: Flat Storage

Step 5: Flat Storage

Store flat with EPE foam between panels to prevent damage.

Important Precautions:

  • Low-Temperature: During autumn and winter, or in temperatures below 15°C (59°F), the product becomes less flexible. Please handle with care and roll/unroll it gently to prevent cracking.
  • Acclimatization: Before installation, allow the panels to acclimate by laying them flat at room temperature. Proceed with installation once the panels have returned to a completely flat state.
3. Adhesive & Material Preparation
Two-Component Adhesive

Adhesive (Component A + B)

Mixing Instructions:

  1. Pour Component B into a 100L bucket; scrape walls clean.
  2. Add Component A (Quartz sand powder).
  3. Use electric mixer for 15 minutes until uniform.

IMPORTANT: Manual mixing is strictly prohibited.

Step 2

Step 2: Apply masking tape along gaps.

Step 3

Step 3: Fill joints evenly with filler.

Step 4

Step 4: Shape with grouting strip.

Step 5

Step 5: Remove tape when semi-dry.

Step 6

Step 6: Wipe clean with sponge.

45° External Corner Treatment

Corner 1

Step 1: Miter edges to precise 45°.

Corner 2

Step 2: Apply adhesive to corner substrate.

Corner 3

Step 3: Naturally fill the 45° joint.

6. Post-Installation Protection
Protect 1

Corner Guards

Install protectors at high-impact edges.

Protect 2

Protective Film

Cover entire panel with protective film.

Protect 3

Safeguarded

Protect against dust and subsequent work.

Important Protection Notice:

Surface Contamination: Paint stains are difficult to clean. Apply protection immediately after installation.

7. Technical Standards & Critical Notes

1. Product Characteristics

MCM panels with deep textures (e.g., Travertine, Sandstone) must be kept clean during installation. Avoid contamination from adhesives, cement, or paint. Installers should wear clean gloves or ensure hands remain spotless.

Note: Installation should proceed from top to bottom.

2. Adhesive & Grout Selection

  • Adhesive: Use specialized MCM adhesives with a color similar to the panels.
  • Grout: Use color-matched grout or designated neutral silicone sealant.

CRITICAL: Use low-alkalinity or non-alkaline materials to prevent efflorescence (alkali-return).

3. Application Standards

  • Must use a notched trowel to apply adhesive evenly.
  • Adhesive thickness should be 2-3mm; coverage must exceed 90%.
  • Leave a 1-1.5cm clearance at edges to prevent adhesive overflow onto the panel surface during pressing.
  • Press panels firmly and evenly to ensure the grout lines are uniform and well-adjusted.

4. Joint Installation Requirements

  • Open Joints: Width depends on design requirements. Clean any overflow immediately to ensure the aesthetic effect.
  • Tight Joints: For fine stone or linear textures, panels can be installed with tight joints or a minimal 0.5-1mm gap to enhance the 3D effect.

Tip: Clean dust before grouting. Use 35mm masking tape on both sides of the joint to prevent surface staining.

5. Corners & Windowsills

  • External Corners: 45° mitered joints may leave small voids; fill with color-matched adhesive. Once dry, sand to a sharp 90° corner. Prefabricated corner pieces can also be used.
  • Internal Corners: Standard overlap is used. For textured products, consider using metal trims, solid wood strips, or other decorative finishes for edging.
  • Windowsills: Handle using external corner methods.

6. Specialized Substrates

  • Tiles/Metal: On sunny days (below 2nd floor), use two-component water-based adhesive. Above 2nd floor, apply an interface agent first, then install with a notched trowel.
  • Wood: For interiors, use air-nails and corner-specific adhesives. For exteriors, waterproofing is required before using two-component adhesive.
  • Cement/Plasterboard: Use a notched trowel to apply adhesive directly for standard installation.
  • Painted Surfaces: Remove peeling or hollow paint entirely before installation.

7. Cleaning & Finishing

MCM materials contain polymer resins; adhesive stains are extremely difficult to remove once dry. Please note:

  • Immediate Action: Do not touch the panel surface with hands stained by adhesive.
  • Dry Removal: If adhesive gets on the panel, do not wipe it while wet. Wait until it is semi-dry, then remove it with a scraper or blade.
  • Surface Glazing: For premium results, apply a thin layer of "MCM Protective Glaze" from top to bottom. Use a clean towel to wipe the surface during application to prevent streaks or dust accumulation.
